Nathan is from Edmonton AB and he carries 10+ years of coaching experience between minor ball and college as he enters his 4th year with the VIU Mariners and second as Head Coach. Nathan played for the Mariners for 7 years (2 Covid) from 2014 to 2021 and made it to the Canadian College World Series Championship game in 2015. Playing for the Edmonton Cubs in the summers he won the Alberta Senior AAA Championship in 2019 and 2021. He represented Team Alberta twice at Nationals, once in 2022 at Mens Nationals and again in 2023 as a coach at 18u Nationals. Over the last two summers he’s coached the 18u Parkland Twins and led them to a Provincial Championship in 2023.
Assistant Coach Tanner Hess

Tanner is from Victoria B.C and has coached for Vancouver Island University since 2020. He competed as a collegiate athlete for the VIU Mariners from 2017 to 2019 and became a First Team All Conference Player in his final season in 2019. He went on to play in the Western Canadian Baseball League and became an All Star Player for the Fort McMurray Giants of the Western Canadian Baseball League.
Pitching Coach Jordan McLeod

Jordan is from Nelson BC and has 7 years of coaching experience from youth baseball to this year being the first as VIU's pitching coach. Jordan played 2 years at Douglas College and 2 years at VIU where he was a late inning reliever/closer throughout his career. Jordan has been the pitching coach for the U15 Nelson Kestrels for the last 3 years where he led them to their first provincial appearance in 2024 as well as setting a provincial record where his pitchers struck out 19 batters in a single game. Jordan's experience and knowledge focuses on strength & conditioning, arm care and velocity development.

Liam is from Errington, BC and is in his 2nd year as coach for the Mariners. A Hall of Fame inductee with multiple All-Conference selections, Ballance also has possession of nearly every offensive record in team history. Along the way he also played for the Victoria Harbourcats and the Cowlitz Black Bears of the West Coast League.

Conor is from St. Albert, AB and is in his 2nd year as a coach for the Mariners. He played for 5 years as an outfielder for the Mariners and played for the Edmonton Prospects of the Western Canadian Baseball League.
